How to Delete Your Spendly AI Account & Data

Thank you for using Spendly AI!

We understand that you may wish to remove your account and associated data at some point. Below are the steps to help you delete your account entirely or simply remove local or cloud data without closing your account.

1. Removing Local or Cloud Data (Without Deleting Your Account)

Spendly AI provides in-app options to remove data stored on your device or in the cloud, without fully deleting your account. This is useful if you want a fresh start but plan to keep using the app.

  1. Delete Local Data Only

    • Open the Settings screen in Spendly AI.
    • Find the "Delete Local Data" option.
    • Confirm your choice, and the app will remove all transactions, categories, and other data stored on your device.
    • Your Spendly AI account remains active, so you can still log in later and sync data if you wish.

  2. Delete Cloud Data Only

    • Go to the Settings screen.
    • Tap "Delete All Cloud Data" to remove your financial information from our online servers (Firebase).
    • This will reset your cloud records while keeping your local data intact (if any).
    • You can still keep your Spendly AI account for future use.

2. Deleting Your Account Completely

If you prefer to fully delete your Spendly AI account and all related data (local + cloud), you now have two options:

Option 1: Delete Through the App (Recommended)

  1. Go to Account Settings in the app
  2. Scroll down and tap on "Delete Account"
  3. You'll be asked to type 'DELETE' to confirm
  4. The app will then ask you to re-authenticate with Google (for security purposes)
  5. Once authenticated, your account and all associated data (both local and cloud) will be permanently deleted

Option 2: Request Deletion via Email

If you're unable to access the app, you can also:

  1. Send Us an Email
    • Write to us at gocrats@gmail.com with the subject line: "Delete My Spendly AI Account."
    • In the email body, please include:
      • Your account's email address (the one used to sign in).
      • A short confirmation statement such as: "I request to delete my Spendly AI account and all associated data."
  2. Processing Time
    • Once we receive your email, we will verify your identity and account ownership.
    • We aim to complete the account deletion process within 7 business days.

3. What Happens After Account Deletion?

  • All your account information, transactions, categories, and other personal data will be permanently removed from our servers.
  • Any local data on your device will also be cleared.
  • If you wish to use Spendly AI again in the future, you'll need to create a new account or sign up with the same email.

4. Data Retention

  • In some cases, we may retain certain records for legal or compliance reasons (e.g., backups or audit logs). However, your identifiable information and financial records will no longer be accessible.
